So every once in a while, our cats do not let us sleep. They jump up onto the bed every half-hour, wander around, occasionally meow, then jump down & wait a half-hour to jump up again. Puck is a greater offender than Fiona (which probably goes without saying).
When we're awake enough to figure it out, and annoyed enough to actually do anything about it, we realize that the reason for this VERY ANNOYING behavior is that they are out of food.
But last night they were not out of food.
They have, for the last 5 days, eaten sample packs of a new cat food. (Our pet store stopped carrying the food they liked, and last month's food they ate but it gave Fiona dandruff.) They loved the sample packs. Yesterday, we opened the huge $30 bag of food since they liked the sample bags.
They would not touch it.
We were woken up every half-hour by hungry cats whose bowls are full of food.
AAAAAAAAHHHHH.
(Yes, this will involve calling every store in the area to see if they carry the food they like. Yes, we are moving in 6 days.)
And now as I type this, Puck has jumped up onto the shelf above my desk that he has NEVER EVER jumped up on before and is proceeding to lick all the papers and knock everything off. I can't pull him off easily because he has this weird ability to hunker down and make his effective shape a 200-pound formless blob.
