On the same day yahoo news has a headline of a study that says not to spank kids (because it makes them aggressive), the headline in the afternoon is "Paddling brought back by popular demand."  Where? A city in Texas.    And it also occurs to me -- maybe they *dont' mind* them being aggressive.  Aggressiveness doesn't seem to be a negative quality to many people these days. (Republicans, tea-partiers)   There's more of a discussion here for people who have more energy for politics than I do.
