How horizontal blinds work

PSA: When vertical blinds are down but open, they shield all glare off your desk, and all sun-rays off your body, while allowing you to fully 100% see out the window.
I had never tried putting down blinds because no way would I close off the view of any window. But in AZ this is important knowledge, because the glare off a white piece of paper was blinding, *and* I was getting a sunburn on my wrists in the afternoon, no joke.
So, that's today's PSA.
