quick update
Sep. 14th, 2010 09:06 am- Hello friends! I miss you! (It's a theme.)
- We went to a gem & bead show this past weekend. As Bob said, it's like the sqwook event of the season! It was a lot of fun. The BIG one is in February, should be ... interesting. If anyone wants anything, give me details and budget. I do better with some "missions" to focus me.
- I saw a roadrunner when we were down in the desert! How exciting!
- Kartchner caverns are down in that area too so I hope to go in February. Caves are completely cool.
- extrastout - did you go to burning man this year?
- The Sonoran desert museum in Tucson has all kinds of great programs (including food-gathering from desert plants, and something about their local csa, etc) and Tucson is just too far away for me to do them all. Plus they're not inexpensive (especially given the long drive / overnight stay). But they have a 2-day field biology class! Anyway, good stuff. We became members, because if we go again in February (which we will) then we've paid for the membership.
- Tucson was a lot smaller than I thought it would be given that it's AZ's second city. Which is good, because I had sort of dreaded having to drive all over town to get to various places we needed to get to. Not to fear, driving across town was not a problem at all. Flagstaff is AZ's third city, and I think it's smaller than AA.
- Deva Designs stuff is going great. Thank you to the folks on FB who became "fans/friends" of the FB page. Newsy / business-y updates will likely be going there.
- Otter update - the river otters were NOT out & about in their tank when we were at the desert museum. :( We will go back!
