Mar. 12th, 2010 08:54 pmBack when Schoolcraft Road was the very edge of the city of Detroit, my grandpa Kurtz's dad was in construction. He had 18 horses to do excavating, digging out basements for new homes. When Grandma lived on Centralia, there was no running water while it was being built, so she carried it over from the Town Hall. Guys would hang out there by the pump, so the girls (including my grandma) would get all dressed up to carry the water. Schoolcraft Road today
