Things that are good for your body are also good for your soul.  My friend L makes awesome soaps & such, and yesterday she helped me make an awesome moisturizing sugar scrub for the winter. To scent it, I added lavender (20 drops), rosemary (4), sage (4), orange (8).  The scrub itself is a lovely lemony-yellow color. Yay!!!

L & L & kids & I drank smoothies full of summer deliciousness.  We also made cold cream, though due to some unclear directions (and us trying to compensate) it ended up much stiffer than planned." L also made dinner and provided all the ingredients for everything. I can never seem to even up my debts with her. Thank you, L.

*Edited to add: Actually, it seperated, and the beeswax/oil is the hard layer on top of still-liquid water & rosewater & borax. Anyone w/experience w/emulsions have any ideas what might have happened?

Tangent: Hey! There's an unfinished coffee here in front of me! (drink drink drink.)  Ah.

Hi! I'm starting a project, and you can be the recipient!  If you want, of course.   Just answer these questions:

1. Would you want or wear a piece of jewelry in this-type style:

(thank you, random google search)

If yes:
2. Necklace or bracelet?
3. Metal: silver-color, or antiqued/patinad/brone-ish/brass-type color, or dealer's choice?
4. What are some of your favorite stones and colors? And are there any no-gos?

I can definitely do several of these, though I probably can't do, like, 100. Since I don't have a 100 friends on LJ anyway, I think I'm ok just making this an open offer. :)

Edited to add: Making a tracking list here for myself:
1. L- need to confirm - fluorite
2. [livejournal.com profile] lizdmg - lapis
3. [livejournal.com profile] rjlona - amethyst (need to buy)
4. [livejournal.com profile] transfiguration - blue goldstone (need to buy)
5. [livejournal.com profile] nalathilion - Fluorite (need to buy)
6. [livejournal.com profile] pumaviking - garnet

Art nouveau- art, beauty, design, craftsmanship, science, nature- what is not to love?

A building I'd managed somehow never to see before: Giuseppe Brega's Villa Ruggeri in Pesaro, Italy, 1902-1907
