Have you  noticed how if you don't post for a while, then soon almost nothing seems post-worthy? Yes, folks, here we are.  But life has been good!

New Year's was veddy veddy nice, with all kinds of good friends all around (plus plenty of good friends who couldn't make it for various reasons.)  I'm so glad I have such great folks in my life.

I have found a bunch of rock geeks - the local lapidary & mineral society. I love it! And they have workshop time for a ridiculously low price, and uber-smart people who could probably identify any rock of any kind... I am totally excited.

I will be away most of next week at a leadership training thingy... I'll explain better after I actually go.

Our local land conservancy protected a record-breaking 1,093 acres of natural areas & farms in 2007!  Awesome!  And there are already cool projects in the works for this year.

B & I have decked the halls with the four seasons tiles from this artist:

Super beautiful.  Better in person.

I wandered around in the freezing cold under cloudy skies yesterday - but I loved it. I was visiting one of our brand-new, not-even-announced-yet nature preserves.  It was so quiet in the forest, and the hoar frost along the hedgerows was gravity-defying.  Snow & frost are so magical!  If only there had been sun, then I'd share the wealth. But landscape photos that I take under clouds never impart the feeling of being there.
