I got a gal...

      I had the pleasure of visiting Kalamazoo this weekend for a conference of all midwest land trusts and conservancies.
      Upon arriving in those parts of town that are so familiar to me, I was struck by the palpable fondness I have for Kalamazoo, and for that time of my life, and for the people I shared that time with - many of whom I am honored to still have in my life.
      Sense of place. Worth having and worth working for ... and not always simply a question of just the place itself, so much as the conjunction between the place and the time and the people.

Bright-eyed

There's a squirrel outside who is shaking his tail in all kinds of poofy circles and swishes. I've heard they do this to intimidate. They clearly have no idea that this just makes them look SO. DARN. CUTE.

From the conference...
