- Sara Bareilles is an awesome singer & songwriter, wow. Her melodies & chord changes leave me breathless.
- Our cat Fiona is curled up in a very fuzzy ball on a big poofy pillow here beside me.
- I love my eye doctor. He is full of science & willing to share. (Dr. Lutz, in the mall. Which, if you hate the mall, is right near the door, so you don't really have to go in. And, if you love the mall, well, it's at the mall.)
- I tried on lots of snazzy deep red eyeglass frames. I'm not really in the market, as I never wear my glasses. But, you know, dress-up. Sqwooks love playing dress-up.
- Cats in the walls! (with happy ending!) http://blog.birdofparadox.com/2009/03/30/the-cats-in-the-walls/
- I'm now caught up on Torchwood, which I did not let break my heart. Because I left my heart with series 1, and my own personal Torchwood canon runs differently than season 2. La la la, I can't hear you...
- My big work event netted what we had hoped to gross. Rock on.
- Last year was all about nature, me as a small thing in a miraculous place (well, it's always about that), simplification, and this year feels much more ... I don't even know. Worldly might be one word. How the solitary one fares in the world. With ribbons & beads & silks & perfumed sheets & fresh tomatoes & dizzying art & syrupy meads & garnet-colored ports. (And do I feel a bit INSANE for feeling like living big when they say the economy is crashing around us? Yeah. But life *is* big. I didn't make it that way.)
- ETA: Gah! I knew there was another random bullet point! Making my hands into soaring raptors and silly quails in the reflection of the mirror while waiting for the eye exam, and totally cracking myself up.
I want the whole world, and the stars too.

Date: 2009-04-03 07:40 pm (UTC)We need to schedule a followup get-together. And did you know that the UM museum of art is re-opened after a major construction project? I remember a cool art nouveau something, and would be cool to see the changes.
